I have aways been a sucker for autumn weddings, especially with the amazing fall colors that Kansas City has to offer. Lara and Cory’s stunning day was the best of everything autumn and everything Kansas City. Her blush and grey wedding party fit perfectly with our outdoor rustic locations and her garden inspired florals brightened the day. From a quaint Pilgrim Chapel wedding ceremony, to a watering stop at Waldo’s Beir Station (and the site of Lara and Cory’s first date), to a classic reception dinner at the historic Loose Mansion, this was a day that encompassed some of Kansas City’s finest locations. And if you ask me, the people were pretty amazing too! Enjoy!
From our Bride Lara:
Favorite Moment of the Day:
Lara: There are actually two favorite moments that stick out for me about our wedding. One would be when Cory and I were exchanging our vows at the alter. It felt so intimate and peaceful. It was one of those moments that literally felt like it was just the minister and the two of us in the church. And, the maid and matron of honors and best man speeches. It felt so surreal to realize what an over 20 year friendship (which is rare for most people) feels like when your best friends are speaking about your life together. Their words are forever embedded in my heart.
Cory: My favorite moments would be at the alter saying our vows when everyone else seemed to disappear and it was just the two of us together almost alone. Also, just soaking in the moment at Bier Station. We were in a comfortable environment with just our close friends and could let everything just sink in and enjoy ourselves.
Inspiration for the wedding: Is Garden glamour a thing? haha. Cory loves gardening and I love flowers so I wanted that to be the main focus of our wedding, but I wanted it to feel elegant and glamorous as well.
Advice to brides planning in the future: Make your wedding day as stress-free as possible. You deserve to enjoy the whole day and to focus on what the day means — marrying your partner. To me, it is worth hiring a day of coordinator and/or having an event space that includes the whole package so they can focus on the set-up and you can focus on your day without worries. Also, enjoy the planning part too, I thought it was fun.
Special thank you to my second photographer, Mike Tsai.
